Her professional journey began in Nigeria, where she completed her teacher’s training and served as an elementary school educator. After immigrating to Canada, Adenike continued her studies at Mount Royal College (now Mount Royal University), deepening her expertise in early childhood education and reaffirming her lifelong calling to support young learners.
With over four decades of experience, Adenike has served in diverse roles including teacher, counselor, mentor, home visitation support worker, early intervention educator, and business owner. She is the Founder of Dana Daycare Ltd., an inclusive early learning centre grounded in the belief that children thrive best when they feel loved, safe, respected, and encouraged to explore.
Mentorship remains central to Adenike’s work. She has guided practicum students and emerging educators throughout their professional journeys, offering wisdom, encouragement, and leadership while fostering the next generation of early childhood professionals.
Adenike is the proud author of two children’s books, The Kindness Garden and The Little Light That Loved to Shine. She is also a co-founder of the Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary and the Yoruba Foundation Calgary, and an active member of Wise Women and the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta (AECEA).
